Very large and fine Chinese 18th century or earlier dry lacquer figure of a seated Buddha; fully adorned in elaborate flowing robes, face in meditative posture with pleasing facial features of fine detail, the hair finely detailed with black lacquer, open chest exposing lotus flower, legs and hands crossed in mudra, the body with allover dry lacquer, some area's of gilt warn away to exposed deep red color, the base with original lacquered panel to enclose the base, accompanied with fine Elmwood stand; minor wear, chips, flaws and loss to lacquer consistent with age; Without Stand L 12" x H 20" (Approx.)
