Vintage Red Wing blue vase #951, from the 1930’s, with a the top with rounded sides and a scrolled detail on the side, and signed Red Wing 951 on the base. When German immigrants settled in the Mississippi River grain town of Red Wing, Minnesota during the 1860s, they noticed that the local clay was perfect for producing stoneware such as crocks, jugs, and other forms of pottery used for food storage and preparation, as skilled potters.
