Ambusap Bridal Cowrie Shell Headpiece, from Papua New Guinea, this veil is covered in shells, each pierced up to 2 times in order to be attached, demonstrating the tightest hand-bining technique, and great attention to detail. It would be worn long in the back on the day of the wedding as the bride is presented to her groom. Tail of the veil appears to go into a snake like form. 28 inches long (approx). Condition, overall good condition with some missing shells and losses to shells.
