19th century Victorian close helmet rendered in the "Maximilian" style of Early 16th century, with wooden stand. One piece skull with bulbous wide form and well fluted throughout, struck with two armor marks one of the Nuremburg Arsenal type, the other possibly an obscured crown, pierced at either side of the comb which is well fluted and embossed with various repairs and replaced rivets. Visor with four terminating points of protrusion and vents throughout, upper most vent lightly carved in a roping fashion. Bevor with locking spring for visor, visor rest or lifting peg, and pierced liner holes to either side of cheeks, lightly roped at its lowest edge to match rear lames. Three "Maximilian" style fluted lames to rear skull with final terminating lame featuring matching armorers marks to skull; the helmet features various replaced rivets and repairs to skull, overall condition is very good; H 11 1/4" x W 10 1/2" x L 12" (approx.)
