Antique Indian gilt bronze mortar and pestle with incised designs, 19th century or earlier; overall good condition, minor wear and losses to gilt; mortar H 3 3/4" x D 5 1/4", pestle L 8" (approx.) Provenance: Collected between 1945-1960 by Carl O. Winberg, former United States Government diplomat, agricultural attaché and Foreign Service officer serving across Indonesia, India Burma, Bangladesh and Australia; thence by descent to the present owner.
