Originally purchased in Los Angeles in 1954, this was one of the first 2500 Thunderbirds off the line. This car has remained in Los Angeles since then and has had three owners; the first from 1954 – 1990 (approximately), the second from 1990 (approximately) – 1996 and the current owner from 1996 – present. When originally purchased the car was Thunderbird Red, however the first owner, around 1956-1957, had the car and removable hardtop painted to their current color. At that same time the original owner changed the engine from the stock 292 to an upgraded 312 and a 5-speed automatic transmission, as well as replacing the taillights with those of a 1956 or 1957 Thunderbird. The car displays just under 46,400 miles, and is equipped with power steering, power breaks and two-way power seats. The third owner, shortly after purchasing the car, had the transmission rebuilt, installed air conditioning, converted the drum brakes to disk and replaced the radio. Original radio and hardtop portable carrier are included with the car. The car had been regularly maintained and will be accompanied by numerous service records from 1992 – 2011. A large number of the services performed on this car were at Prestige Thunderbird in Santa Fe Springs, CA. NOTE: Credit card payments will not be accepted for this lot. Please contact us for full condition report and additional photo requests.
