Pair of fine Chinese Republic Period famille rose enameled porcelain vases; each of ovoid form, flaring subtly at the foot and rim; the slender neck flanked by two moulded and parcel-gilt dragon head handles; the body with intricately detailed, continuous scene of boys at play in a lush garden, set between ruyi-motif and geometric lappet borders; the neck with scrolling foliage, peaches and bats on a yellow ground; each with iron-red Jiaqing seal mark to base, but later; Provenance: Estate of Dr. David Young; H: 7 1/2" (each)
