Very fine antique Austrian bronze and metal treasure chest, the cover of the chest allover adorned with finely detailed bronze panel and accents overlapping the wood borders with elaborate crested lock (missing key) the body with very detailed columns carved in high relief interspersing the front with three repousse bronze panels, the central panel depicting and inscribed Kaseel Von Kerlan with family crest in upper right, to the left a repousse panel depicting the general Joannes Fernberger, to the right an additional figural panel depicting Johannes Rvebers, both dressed in armor including breast plate a with helms and gauntlets at their feet, each with sword and staff, the side with outstretched elaborately detailed bronze handle, the interior velvet lined with metal hinges and supports, possibly 18th century; overall good condition consistent with age, minor surface wear, scrtches, chips and losses; L 23 3/4" x W 9 1/4" x H 12 1/2" (Approx.)
