Pair of intricately made copper Javanese Antique Batik Tjap Or Batik Stamps. Three dimensional stamps used for applying wax in the art of batik to textiles and other clothing materials; condition: overall both in good condition with expected wear; some bending to the copper edges, and some losses to the handles; size of both approximately 5 inches wide by 5 inches tall. Provenance: Collected between 1945-1960 by Carl O. Winberg, former United States Government diplomat, agricultural attache and Foreign Service officer serving across Indonesia, India Burma, Bangladesh and Australia; thence by descent to the present owner.
