SIATA - Societa Italiana Applicazione Transformazione Automobilistiche - was founded in Turin, Italy in 1926. Siata became known in the USA, in the 1950s, as a company who raced and produced specialty cars for celebrities. The Siata Spring was a 2-seater roadster built by Siata on the basis of the Fiat 850. Introduced in 1967, it featured retro styling with a mock upright radiator grille, separate fenders and upright mounted headlights. In Italy it was initially priced cheaper than Fiat's Bertone 850 Spider. The "Siata Spring" was in fact the last Siata car built, with production ending in 1970. This beautiful Siata Spring has been the recipient of a complete restoration. Finished in a beautiful color scheme of grey with white inserts and red accents, this little car is guaranteed to put a smile on everybody's face. The car was stripped to bare metal while the interior was refinished in black with plaid inserts and new convertible top. In addition, the car is fitted with: factory Borrani wire wheels and a deluxe wooden steering wheel. Mechanically the car is just as sound as it looks. The Fiat 823cc 850 engine was disassembled and rebuilt to factory specifications. The transmission is originally and a new clutch has been installed. The car runs like a top and has a top speed of estimated 78mph! Condition Report available upon request.
