ANTIQUE MING-STYLE PARCEL-GILT ELEPHANT CENSER
Antique Ming-style, Chinese or Sino-Tibetan, parcel-gilt bronze tripod censer; the cylindrical body with design of lotus motifs, set on three ornately adorned elephant heads, the openwork foliate cover surmounted with a gilt recumbent caparisoned elephant carrying a Buddhist prayer wheel on its back; two additional elephant heads with trunks thrown up as handles; all on a separately cast raised pedestal with lotus at center; possibly 18th Century; Provenance: From the Collection of Eugene Iglesias; H: 20" (approx.)
