Large Japanese satsuma bowl, probably Meiji or Showa period, the interior of the bowl with elaborate scene of numerous samurai beneath pine trees next to landscape scene with rocky outcrops beneath a detailed pattern boarder with mon, the exterior with three elaborately decorated panels each with figural scene, the base with elaborate mark within cartouche beneath Shimazu family crest; overall good condition with minor wear and losses consistent with age, loss to gilt; W 10" x H 4 1/4"
