The Pallasite Admire meteor fall, first discovered during ploughing in 1881, has produced some of the best examples of gem peridot to be found in any of this rare class of meteorite. Within a spidery network of silvery nickel-iron matrix are masses of lovely golden olivine gems, many with excellent translucence, highly polished on both sides, 12 1/2 inches wide and weighing approximately 409 grams.
