ETCHED METEORITE CUBE
Muonionalusta - iron, fine (IVA) octahedrite
Kiruna, Norrbotten, Northern Sweden
This fascinating little cube, approximately 3 inches wide and approximately 4200 grams, has been acid etched on each face to expose the layers of cooled-down kamacite and taenite that form the uncanny Widmanstätten patterns so prized in Muonionalusta specimens. In addition, one face has a large 5/8 inch, black stishovite inclusion, another characteristic highly valued in this fall.
